where doing GOOD
is made EASY
Greater Fairfield's go-to site for
volunteering, donating goods, and getting involved

Those little bottles of shampoo and soap from hotels that end up in the bottom of your suitcase can mean a lot to someone in a homeless shelter. Next time, you see your stash at home growing consider donating it to the organization (s) below.

The Community Closet

475 Clinton Ave. (See Map)
Monday-Friday 10 am- 2 pm

The mission of the Community Closet is to help the disadvantaged of greater Bridgeport by offering clothing and household essentials free of charge, regardless of race, creed, color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or place of birth. All "shoppers" must have a letter from a social service agency. They serve over 11,000 people a year.

This huge donation center is located in the basement of FSW, Inc, a large social service agency down the street from Brooklawn Ave. Pull your car up to the circle. Tell the receptionist inside that you are donating to The Community Closet and a volunteer will meet you at your car with a bin.
